Welcome to Space Between Pages, a blog that combines a lifelong love of the stars with reading and translation. A play on words pairing space and science fiction with physical books, Space Between Pages was established in 2021 as a personal outlet to explore reading and writing.
Space Between Pages is run by Melissa, a queer, demisexual book reviewer, aspiring editor, and work-in-progress Japanese translator. An avid reader, Melissa served as a contributing editor at Paperback Paris for five years, and actively works as a freelance developmental editor for LGBTQ+ romance books with Books Unite People.
A thirtysomething with a love of magic and faraway worlds, Melissa found her love of reading with SFF and will read anything with a romance plot line. She took three years of Japanese in college (and continues to study) with the hope of working in localization or translation to promote diverse reading and appreciation for language.
When Melissa isn’t curled up with her cats reading, she can be found playing video games (or watching G4) and is an avid completionist and trophy collector.
